PLEASE TAKE MY HAND!

PLEASE TAKE MY HAND!

I know its quite dark
But look at me look at me
I am right here
My head is still above the water
So I think am breathing
But not like I used to
Please take my hand
Hear my voice
Hear me call out to you
Hear my cry
I would be stuck here without you
Please take my hand and pull me out
The storm is at its peak and yea the waves
They keep coming
Wave after wave
The waves are everywhere
They get more intense with each passing second
Acting like they came for my downfall
I wish I could easily swim out of this
I wish I could get out on my own
But I can't
Wait! Can you hear that?
That is defeat calling
I should shut my ears
But then my hands are busy
Stroking the water how best I can
I think am moving my arms and feet
But I am not sure if they are in motion
C'os am beginning to feel empty and stiff
I am trying hard but
My strength is shallow and
My resistance is weak
How did I even get here?
I guess I am a freak
Urrggh! Right now I feel real sick
And  I am barely breathing
So please, please help me
I am yet to fulfill my mission
In fact I am yet to start
What is going on?
I am sinking!
I can't even feel my body
I am running out of time
Please help me while you can
This is my last call
It is now or never!
Help me!
Help me before I am defeated
By the storm and its striking waves
Please don't let me drown!
Can you hear me?
Is anyone even there?
Somebody! Anybody!
Please take my hand!
Please take my hand!

ANALYSIS
This poem highlights someone in urgent need calling out for help. One thing you should notice is that she forgets to talk to God. Talking to God doesn't necessarily mean shouting. It can be few words or a line of prayer with a low voice or no voice at all. He hears even the words of our minds and hearts. When we are in trouble we should first talk to God (before calling out to others) because He would answer and He can ensure someone is sent to our rescue if need be.

BIBLE VERSES
Psalm 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, a very preset help in times of trouble.
Matthew 11:28
Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens and I will give you rest.

SHORT PRAYER
(From the Girlfriends in God Daily Devotional)
Dear Lord, please lead me in your wisdom , knowledge and understanding today. Direct my choices, my behaviors, and my heart. Forgive me for the times when I look to others or to myself when I should be looking to you.
In the name of Jesus Chist. Amen.

This is my recording of this poem; PLEASE TAKE MY HAND! I was partly inspired by the song "Waves" by Mr Probz so for this poem recitation the instrumental of the song is played in the background.
